We can measure the amount of faith we have or want to have by what we give away that God has already given us. 2 Cor 9:6-8 says, ". . .Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work." This scripture reference is not just about money. Giving should always be from the heart. It should never be given out of guilt or from a legalistic necessity " We need to back up our faith with a seed. Do you want to see God move in greater faith and anointing on your life? Then plant a seed according to your faith and the measure He has already given you. Often we want to move in signs and wonders and perform great things for God, but God is waiting to see what we do with what He has already given us.
Maybe very little is happening in your life because you have sown sparingly. If you want a lot of blessings and greater works from God you should back your faith up with a generous portion He has already given you. Give generously so that you can reap generously from God who always gives back way more than what we give away.
This principle is not just about the money we give to God. It also applies to the spiritual gifts and fruit of the Spirit He has already given us. Do you want to have more Words of Knowledge? Then give a Word when you receive them. It may be hard at first but if you want to increase your faith you need to take a risk. Take a leap of faith and start giving people words of knowledge that you think you might have heard or felt - It most likely was given by the Spirit. If you give it away, you will receive more back from the Father and it will always be way more than you gave away.
Want to experience more healing, then start laying hands on people and give away what you already have. God commanded us to heal the sick, raise the dead, cast out demons, cause the blind to see and the deaf to hear. Would you like to see people rise from the dead? How many times do you pray for the dead to be raised? Faith is measured by how much you give away not by how much you keep. If you would like to see people rise from the dead then start praying over dead bodies with the faith you already have. God will give us back way more than we give away and who knows, one day you just might see God raising someone from the dead as you pray for them. You never know until you try and give what you have away.
Want to be able to prophecy? Then prophecy with the word or thought that the Spirit gives you and start giving away what you have. About two weeks ago while at Voice of the Prophets, I was talking to the person next to me when I was standing in line to receive a prophetic word from one of the speakers. I mentioned to her that I usually don't receive many prophetic words and when I do they are usually for a church body or location and hardly ever for an individual.
As soon as I got those words out of my mouth, a prophecy about this lady came to my mind. It was the word "holy." I didn't get anything else. No great visions. No lengthy sentence. Just one word "holy." So I gave away what I had received to her. As soon as I gave it away, God opened my mouth and I began to prophecy over her. God downloaded a boat load of truths just for her that encouraged her heart and was exactly what the Father wanted her to hear. Truths that only she and the Father knew. I would have never experienced prophesying over her if I didn't give away the one word God gave me. I wonder how many other times I missed out when I didn't give away the one thought the Spirit gave me because I thought it was insignificant.
So if you want to experience more miracles, more healing, more prophecy, more raising the dead, more signs & wonders, and more financial blessing or if you haven't experienced any of these and you want to start moving in these greater things, then start giving away what you already have. You will be pleasantly surprised at how generous God is and that He wants to give back to you. It will be far greater and way more than we give away. So give generously to others what you already have, a little word, a prayer of blessing, a command to be healed, a prayer over the dead to be raised, a portion of your money, or other Spiritual gifts you have received and God will give back to you way more than you gave away. You will experience an increased measure of faith and greater works moving in more miracles, more healing, more prophecy, more raising the dead, more signs & wonders, or more financial blessing.
Try it today. Give away what God has already given you and watch how God will multiply and grow the seed that you have given away. The more generous you are, the more God can use to multiply and sew back into you to do the greater works He wants you to do.
